Dusit Thani Manila is one of the premier 5-star luxury hotels located in the heart of Makati Central Business District. The place is owned and managed by a Bangkok based international hotel-chains corporation. Thus the hotel is boasting of its world class Thai hospitality and service.
BASIX(All-day dining Restaurant)One of the specialty restaurants found inside the Dusit Thani Hotel is Basix. The said place, located in the lobby of the hotel, offers a wide spread of delectable international specialty cuisines.
BREAKFAST BUFFET AT BASIX
The all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet of Basix serves a festive culinary fusion of Filipino,American,European,Japanese and Indian satisfying meals.
FILIPINO STYLE BREAKFAST
Since I am too overwhelmed with the food choices,I decided not to take photos of the typical Filipino breakfast dishes. So here are the all-time Filipino favorite breakfast meals that made the list; Plain Rice & Garlic Rice,Daing na Bangus,Corned Beef,Pancit Canton and Champorado.
Yet, this Taho in this lustrous tin container is definitely a piece worth giving attention. I was flabbergasted at the same time delighted when I saw this one at the buffet spread.I just can’t believe it, right before my eyes was a well known Filipino favorite street comfort food found in a fancy restaurant around the metro.Oh yes! it is possible.
Taho is made from soft tofu that is flavored by a sweetener and topped by pearls. It is a famous comfort food among Filipinos. The said food are usually sold by street peddlers. |
You can also find a porridge section at Basix which you can put different toppings of your choice.
AMERICAN CORNER
Let’s now have a crossover to a culture not so far with our culture. The American corner or more of the processed food corner includes the well-loved crispy bacon strips. golden brown and lightly crisp hash browns and flavorful hotdogs and sausage.
INDIAN DISHES
JAPANESE DISHES
There’s nothing much with the Japanese section. Also, I am not a fan of raw cuisines that’s why I didn’t paid so much attention to this corner.
OMELET STATION
Basix restaurant also has a live cooking station wherein you can ask the chef to prepare your omelet.
PANCAKE STATION
Basix also has a live cooking station for your pancakes. Here are the syrups that are available to top your pancakes.
Salad Bar and the Dairy StationCompared to the veggie choices during their lunch buffet, the available veggies at the salad bar during the morning is not that many.
Meanwhile, they also offer yogurts and different kinds of milk for the kids and kids at heart.
BREAD STATION
Basix has a handful of choices for their bread station. They have sweet breads, soft rolls, croissants, muffins and even pandesals. They also have a station wherein you can make your own toast.
Here are some spreads to compliment with your freshly baked breads.
You can also pair your breads with these available cold cuts and cheese.
DESSERT
After you're done with your main course, you can choose from fresh fruits or other confectioneries for your dessert.
BEVERAGE
Aside from coffee, Basix also offers different juices such as pineapple juice, four seasons, mango and iced tea.
Summing up, I believe that there's nothing much nor spectacular about the breakfast buffet of Basix except for the fact that I had my favorite Taho.
Yet, I'll be blogging about their lunch buffet soon. I hope you'll be back to check it
