Sephora Color Festival Palette: A Review

I guess this review is a little bit overdue, Yet,I have been using this product for quite some time now and I have been loving every single minute of using it so I realized that a short review won’t hurt.

THE BRAND: SEPHORA 

For those of you who are not yet familiar with the brand,let me first give you a background about Sephora. 

Sephora is a cosmetic brand from Paris wherein a wide array of other cosmetics products can also be availed in their stores. Brands such as Nars, Urban Decay and Bare Minerals can be found in their stores.To make the long story short, it is a shopping mecca for those who have a gaga for make-up. 

Currently,Sephora is still not available in the local market. Hence, I asked a friend of mine to buy it for me in Singapore. As far as I can remember I bought this palette from Sephora for about Php 2,300(already converted). 

I have this palette since December 2014. Usually Sephora would launch this kind of make-up palettes during the last months of the year.

THE PACKAGING 

CASE: The case has an irregular hexagon shape wherein you can rotate each layer to  see what’s inside.Indeed, the packaging is quite appealing to the eyes. However, its irregular shape is not ideal for travel.I suggest you keep the box, so if ever you plan to bring it anywhere you can easily put it in your bags. 

WHAT’S INSIDE? 

EYE SHADOW PALETTE: The palette has  seventy two shades of eye shadows. Yes! you read it right it has seventy two shades. That’s like having an endless amount of make-up looks in a single box. 

More so, the eye shadow palette is a combination of shimmery and matte finish eye shadows, giving you more options to experiment and blend any shade. 

Here is a closer look for the eye shadow palette. 

 

CREAM EYE LINER: I have never tried  cream eye liners before, but when I started to use it I instantly love it. Simply because it is so easy to apply.Now, eye liners have been a part of my make-up routine. 

So here are the sixteen highly pigmented shades of cream eyeliner that were included in the palette.

LIP STAIN:Too bad, the palette only includes four shades of matte lipsticks. The colors of the lipsticks were more on the neutral shades. Hence it is perfect for any look. 

 

LIP GLOSS: The make-up palette has twenty eight colored lip glosses.I am not really a fan of lip glosses so I won’t delve in this area. 

Yet, here is a closer look on the available shades. 

BLUSH: The make-up palette includes eight shades of blush.The other half has a shimmer finish that would be perfect for a date night look whereas the other half has a matte finish that would be nice for day-to-day look. 

Unlike with my favorite blush brand,Clinique, the blush of this make-up palette is not long lasting. 

 

BONUS: The box includes six easy-to-follow make-up tutorial cards.Here are some of the cards that you will find inside the box. 

SAMPLE WORK 

Let me get this straight! I am not a professional make-up artist nor took any formal education about make-up. Yet, I still want to share with you guys the instances where I have used this make-up palette. 

So here is my cousin when I did her make-up for one of her school’s social gathering. 

 

I also used this make-up palette when I attended my Grandmother’s Filipiniana Themed Birthday Party.Too bad I failed to have a close-up shot.

 

BEST FOR BEGINNERS 

For beginners like me who just wish to experiment on blending colors and would like to have a total make-up package, then I highly recommend this product because you can find almost anything on it. 

It’s like having different sets of make-up in a single box.
