The Philippine Institute of Interior Designers, as the only accredited professional organization of interior designers, marked their 51st Anniversary with innovative programs that aim in improving their services to their members and bringing interior designing profession into further heights.
To celebrate this glorious milestone, the organization held a launching event of their upcoming projects last September 30,2015 at Chardonnay by Astoria in Pasig City.
The said event was hosted by Giselle Sanchez, a veteran comedian actress and a stage performer by profession.
PIDD launching of new website
In response to the globalization efforts of the organization, the management decided to upgrade their existing website. The online portal shall feature noteworthy projects of Filipino Interior Designers.
Also, according to PIID’s Corporate Secretary namely Kathleen P. Obcemea, to fast track the payments of the member’s fees, the website shall be accommodating online payments.
Interior Design Excellence Awards(IDEA)
To give recognition to the exceptional talents and marvelous works of the Interior Designer professionals, PIID introduced the Interior Design Excellence Awards. The award giving body will accept works of the designers from the past decade from different categories. These include Residential, Commercial, Institutional and Public Buildings.
Interior Design Plus(ID+)
To encourage designers to incorporate deeper aspects into their works, PIID launched ID+. The said recognition wishes to give credit to noteworthy projects with certain themes. Categories include ID+ Heritage & Conservation, ID+ Sustainability and ID+ Gender Sensitivity.
PIID National President James G. Jao’s speech
The gathering will not be complete without some inspiring words from PIID’s National President, James Jao. Mr. Jao shares,“ My vision is to provide a direction for PIID towards a path that is professionally paved for both the building and veteran designers so they can evolve and discover their specialties not only in the local but as well as global practice. For the next 2 years, we will create a dynamic platform for all members for creative and academic developments that are aligned with our Filipino culture and international standards.”
